Geography: Columbia Falls is the gateway to Glacier National Park found in the northeast corner of the Flathead Valley.  The Flathead River runs next to town.  Recreational opportunities abound with Flathead Lake and Whitefish Lake a short drive away, Big Mountain Ski Area is only 15 minutes to the west. 

Transportation: Columbia Falls is located at the intersection of Hwy 40 and Hwy 2.  Glacier International Airport 7 miles away. Nearby are two Amtrak depots, one in Whitefish, MT and the other in West Glacier, MT.

Weather:  Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 73° in June, 83° in July, and 82° in August, with average lows in the mid 40s. May and June usually have the most rainfall with an average of 2.5 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 32° in December, 30° in January, and 34° in February, with average lows in the mid teens. The average snow depth from December to February is 8 inches.
