Geography: Dillon, Montana is located in the middle of the Beaverhead Deerlodge National Forest.  The Blacktail Mountain Range and the Tendoys are to the south, the Ruby Mountain Range to the east, and the Pioneer Mountains to the northwest.  The Beaverhead River runs through town; the Big Hole River, Grasshopper Creek, Ruby River, and Blacktail Deer Creek are all a short drive. The Clark Canyon Reservoir is 20 miles south of Dillon.

Transportation: Dillon is located between Butte and the Idaho Border along I-15 at the junction of Montana Hwy 41 and Hwy 278.  Bert Mooney Airport is located in Butte approximately 52 miles north along I-15. 

Weather: Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 73° in June, 83° in July, and 81° in August, with average lows in the mid to upper 40s.  June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 1.8 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 33° in December, 32° in January, and 38° in February, with average lows in the mid teens. The average snowfall in December and January is 4.5 inches.
