Geography: Kalispell is in the Flathead Valley just 9 miles north of Flathead Lake. The Flathead National Forest surrounds the area. The Swan Range of the Rocky Mountains is a beautiful backdrop against Flathead Lake providing ample hunting and hiking opportunities.  The Whitefish and Swan Mountains lie to the east and the Salish Mountains to the west of Kalispell.

Transportation: Kalispell is located at the intersection of Hwy 2 and Hwy 93.  Interstate 90 is located 100 miles south of Kalispell near Missoula. Amtrak offers eastbound and westbound service from Seattle/Portland and Chicago.  The two Amtrak depots are a short drive, one 17 miles away in Whitefish, or 30 miles away in West Glacier.  Glacier International Airport is between Kalispell and Columbia Falls on Hwy 2.

Weather: Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 74° in June, 82° in July, and 80° in August, with average lows in the high 40s and low 50s.  June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 2.1 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 32° in December, 29° in January, and 37° in February, with average lows in the upper teens and low 20s.  The average snowfall in December and January is 15.5 inches.
