Geography: Located at the confluence of the Boulder and Yellowstone Rivers.  The Gallatin National Forest is accessible to the north in the Crazy Mountains, and to the south housing the Absaroka and Beartooth Range.

Transportation: Big Timber, Montana is located 60 miles east of Bozeman, and 80 miles west of Billings along Interstate 90, at the intersection of US Highway 91.

Weather:  Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 77° in June, 87° in July, and 86° in August, with average lows in the high 40s to low 50s.  May and June usually have the most rainfall with an average of 2.58 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 39° in December, 37° in January, and 41° in February, with average lows in the high teens.  The average snowfall in December and January is 7.2 inches.
