Geography: Garfield County offers a variety of landscape, from rolling hills and grasslands, gumbo buttes, and deep canyons  in the Missouri Breaks.  The CM Russell Wildlife Refuge and Fort Peck Lake are north of town.

Transportation: Billings offers the closest full service airport at Billings Logan International Airport, about 150 miles away.  There is a small public airport about three miles out of town.  Jordan is located on SR 200 at the junction of SR 59.

Weather:  Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 80° in June, 90° in July, and 88° in August, with average lows in the high 40s to low 50s.  June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 2.5 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 33° in December, 28° in January, and 34° in February, with average lows in the single digits.  The average snowfall in December and January is 2.5  inches.
