Geography: Ennis lies in the heart of the Madison Valley, surrounded by mountains. The Tobacco Mountains are to the northwest, the Snowcrest and Gravelly Mountain Ranges are south of Ennis, and the Madison Range is to the east. The famous Madison River runs east of town, with Ennis Lake a short drive north along US Hwy 287.

Transportation: Ennis is located at the junction of US Hwy 287 and State Hwy 287.  Bozeman is 53 miles away where Gallatin Field Regional Airport is located.  Yellowstone National Park is 70 miles to the south.

Weather:  Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 73° in June, 83° in July, and 81° in August, with average lows in the mid 40s.  June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 2.3 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 35° in December, 33° in January, and 38° in February, with average lows in the upper teens. The average snowfall in December and January is 5  inches.
