Geography: Surrounded by the Beaverhead and Deerlodge National Forest. The Pioneer Mountain Range is to the south and the Anaconda Mountain Range is northwest of town. The Big Hole River borders the north side of town, and the Wise River runs east of town.

Transportation: Wise River is located at the junction of Hwy 43 and the Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway.

Weather:  Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 68° in June, 80° in July, and 80° in August, with average lows in the upper 30s.  June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 2 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 32° in December, 32° in January, and 34° in February, with average lows in the single digits. The average snowfall in December and January is 5 inches.
