Geography: Surrounded by the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest.  The Continental Divide passes within 8 miles of the community with the local Pintler Mountain range reaching 10,379 feet.  Georgetown Lake is approximately 18 miles west of Anaconda.

Transportation: Anaconda is located just six miles from Interstate 90 and 15 miles from the area where Interstate 15 (north-south) intersects Interstate 90 (east-west). Anaconda is on MT Highway 1.  Closest commercial airport is Bert Mooney Airport located in Butte, MT approximately 31 miles away.

Weather: Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 73° in June, 81° in July, and 81° in August, with average lows in the mid 40s. June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 2.13 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 34° in December, 37° in January, and 40° in February, with average lows in the mid teens. The average snowfall per month from November through January is about 12 inches.
